ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant | SEN School | Greenwich
A well-resourced and supportive SEN school based in Greenwich is seeking an experienced and passionate ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team for an immediate start.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). Students' needs vary in severity-some are verbal, while others are non-verbal and require personal and academic support throughout the school day.
If you have experience working with children or young people with SEN (particularly ASD), we'd love to hear from you. School-based experience is desirable, but transferable skills from youth work, care, or support roles are also welcomed.
Job Description:
ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant
Working 1:1 or in small groups with students aged 11-19
Supporting students with Autism, SLD, and speech & language difficulties
Assisting the class teacher and SENCO with planning and progress reviews
Delivering structured interventions and providing behavioural support
Liaising with the school's therapy team (e.g. SALT, OT, Physio)
Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
Full-time | Long-term role
£90 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Located in the Borough of Greenwich

Person Specification:
Experience working with SEN children or young people (Autism, PMLD, SLD, SP&L)
Childcare or support-related background (formal or informal)
Calm, patient, and proactive in your approach
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Must be reliable, flexible, and able to commit to full-time hours
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
