Job description

SEN Teacher (PMLD) - Redbridge

We are currently recruiting for SEN teachers in September to work in schools in Redbridge. We work with a school that are currently in need of casual and long-term Teachers to help out in the new Academic Year. The schools range from alternative provisions, to specialist schools catering for children with a variety of needs ranging from PMLD, ASC and SEMH needs. You will be expected to work with a variety of ability and age levels.

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

Schools require on and off support throughout the year depending on student intake and staffing needs, so there is always opportunity for contract extension and permanent roles for staff who are a great asset to the school.

The candidate

The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and resilient personality, and be able to work on their own initiative in regards to ensuring that health and safety procedures are met, and the welfare of the children. You will ideally have experience of working in an SEN setting, but applications will be judged on an individual basis. Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and team teach/ moving and handling training is desirable, but not essential as we can provide training through our CPD academy. You will have QTS status and a proven track record of promoting positive relationships and helping students attain the best results.
