Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN Support (South East London)
Location: Primary & Secondary Schools across South East London
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP)
Pay: £95 - £120 per day (depending on experience and school)
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? Are you considering a career in education, psychology, therapy, or child development?
Remedy Education is working with a range of supportive and forward-thinking primary and secondary schools across South East London, who are seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students with SEN, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech & language needs, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Ideal for Graduates in:
Psychology - gain practical experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
English or Humanities - help develop communication, literacy, and reading skills in SEN pupils
Sociology or Criminology - build positive relationships and support students with behavioural challenges
Education Studies - put your theory into practice and prepare for teacher training
Speech & Language/Health Sciences - work alongside therapists and develop clinical insight
About the Role:
Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with learning, communication, and behaviour
Working closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and therapists
Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage in school life
Building strong, trusting relationships and offering emotional support
Opportunity to gain paid experience before pursuing teacher training, educational psychology, or therapy routes
What We're Looking For:
A degree (ideally 2:2 or above) in a relevant subject
A genuine interest in working with children with SEN
Reliable, patient, and proactive with strong communication skills
Previous experience with children or young people (formal or informal) is a bonus
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
