Job description

This role requires an candidate who is experienced in working within children's safeguarding and how the statutory board needs to operate in order to ensure that the board is effective and delivering high quality work and outcomes that benefit children & young people.

The successful worker needs to be capable of working with multiple different partners and negotiating and identifying opportunities for change and delivery

The person needs to have excellent interpersonal skills

The person neds to be able to be able to produce high quality reports and then ensure delivery of the agreed actions

Reporting to the AD of Transformation & Improvement and mentored by the Director of Children's Commissioning & Community Safety.

  1. Work with Board members, chairs, officers and the scrutineer to review the work of the board and create an improvement plan that ensure that the Board is meeting its objectives. Improvement plan to be delivered within 3 months with implementation plan.
  2. Develop and deliver the Quality Assurance and LSCP Audit Programme for 9 months against the priorities identified by the Exec Board. The Consultant will also develop the plans to disseminate learning from the audits and return to key themes to check if improvements in practice have been landed.
  3. Meet with the scrutineer to agree on the methodology and range of activities that will be undertaken to evaluate the areas of focus in the scrutiny programme.
  4. Create an inventory of Lambeth's information-sharing protocols, local multiagency policies, and practice guidance. The consultant will then review these to see if they are current and update them as required.
  5. Develop the Lambeth Learning and improvement framework and make arrangements to implement it.
  6. Coordinate responses to Serious Incident notifications and where agreed, facilitate Rapid Reviews as times when additional capacity is required.

  8. Work with Scrutineer to review the rotating chairs model and consider if we should adopt an independent chair
  9. Accountability of the chairs and the partner.

This role will be for a minimum of 9 months.
