Remedy Recruitment Group are looking for a Debt Manager for a Local Authority in North London.

Job Purpose

Experience of managing an Invoiced Debt Recovery Team (SME) within the public/private sector environment, monitoring Debtor Ledgers to a minimum £20Million annual turnover.

Proven track record in creating and maintaining internal processes for focusing on improvements in quality, efficiency, performance and governance.

Current experience in the use of SAP AR is essential

Experience in the use of Northgate Housing Benefits IT is desirable

High level of numeracy and the ability to manipulate, analyse and present large quantities of data

Knowledge of Invoiced Debt recovery within Social Care, Commercial Rents, Housing Benefit Overpayment desirable.

Educated to Degree Level or proven 3+ year managerial experience within an Invoiced Debt Recovery field, including management experience in recovering delinquent accounts from customers [individuals and public / private organisations] is essential.

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to balance workload, meet deadlines and achieve performance targets by overcoming time constraints

Experience of setting up and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA), with regards to Recovery progress.

Experience of delivering improvements within the customer journey

Practiced knowledge of Invoiced Court Recovery procedure

Experience of the administration process for the 'Pre-Action for Protocol Debt Claims 2017' is desirable.

Experience of working effectively with a wide range of multi-disciplinary teams, senior managers and partner organisations.

A good understanding of Council wide debtor areas i.e Council Tax, NNDR, Social Care, Council Rents, Commercial Rents, Leaseholder services etc.
