The role
Remedy Education are recruiting for a Year 6 teacher to join a 'Good' two-form entry primary school in Lewisham. The successful Year 6 teaching applicant would start in January 2021, initially for two terms to cover a maternity, however there is potential for the contract to be extended into the 2021/2022 academic year. The Year 6 teacher would initially be employed on a long-term temp basis, with potential for a permanent contract further down the track. The Year 6 teacher would be responsible for the planning, delivery and assessment of the curriculum. The successful Year 6 teacher would work closely alongside the two other experienced teachers to teach the two year 6 classes, with groups split depending on ability and subject.

The school has been judged by Ofsted to be 'Good'. It caters for a diverse cohort of pupils who take pride in their learning and achievements. The staff are described as being tight knit and there is a big focus on collaborative working. The school encourages creativity and cross curricular learning.

Requirements
To be considered for the Year 6 Teacher position, you will:

  • Hold QTS or a relevant teaching qualification
  • Require relevant UK experience working with children or equivalent
  • Have or be willing to apply for a DBS
  • Have teaching experience within the UK
