Year 5 Teaching Assistant required for a September start

I am currently working with a primary school in Southwark to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work in Year 5 for September. The role will be a mixture of general classroom support and working with a child with SEN needs.

Your new company
Your new school are seeking a member of staff who can bring confidence, enthusiasm, and motivation to pupils. They incorporate an ethos of fun and inquisitiveness in their approach to the Primary curriculum; promoting students to shine and enrich their learning journey.

Your new role
You will be required to get the classroom ready for the days activity and help teachers plan and record lesson activities (in line with Quality First Teaching practices). You will supervise some group activities and be able to undertake reading tasks with small groups of children. You will help children complete tasks (group or 1 - 1) and help support and manage classroom behaviour. You will be needed to chaperon outings and sporting events and may be required to take part in breakfast and after school clubs. You will take part in training in line with the school CPD calendar. You are expected to be proficient in Literacy and Numeracy

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ability to work 1:1 with pupils
  • Strong commutation skills
  • Work constructively as part of a team
  • Working alongside children with SEN
