Job description

Our client Wigan Council is looking for a Team Manager to join their Children With Disabilities team.

You will join a busy and creative service, ensuring the provision of statutory social care intervention to children, young people and their families across the Wigan Borough.

The service provides a borough wide response to children in need of help and protection and is responsible for the assessment of children and young people, ensuring that the right help and support is provided at the right time.

Your role will be to lead a busy social work team, ensuring the provision of help and support, identifying those children in need of help or protection and ensuring a high quality intervention and outcome.

About you:

You will be a motivated and enthusiastic with management experience in a statutory social care setting.

You will have a knowledge and understanding of the associated childcare law and statutory guidance and the ability to ensure its application.

You will have the ability to lead, support and supervise a team of workers maintaining minimum standards and ensuring high quality assessment intervention and planning for children and young people who require statutory social care intervention.

You will be resilient, adaptable and capable of working effectively with colleagues from other professional disciplines

You will be expected to have knowledge of and be able to display Wigan's workforce behaviours and attitudes as outlined in The Deal; be positive, be prepared to work differently and be personally accountable for results.

Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
