This post is urgently required as part of the Covid-19 response and will be funded through the Covid-19 Outbreak Control fund. The post holder's primary role will be to lead elements of the Covid-19 Safe Tower Hamlets Plan (the borough's outbreak control plan).

They will lead public health work covering elements of the local outbreak plan management:

1. Implementation of local outbreak management plan

2. COVID-19 data analysis

3. Testing - PCR and lateral flow testing plan

4. Vaccination - public health input to vaccination programme

5. Local test and trace implementation

6. Hyperlocal response to prevention and outbreak management

7. Community engagement

Duties of this role will be;

• To develop a clear public health team work programme that is strategically aligned and based on a robust assessment of the priority needs of people in Tower Hamlets and the interventions that will have the greatest impact on improving and protecting their health and addressing health inequalities

• To provide leadership, direction, motivation and inspiration to the team in delivering the work programme and to influence at senior level through representation at council Directorate Management Teams (DMTs)

• To review the work programme on an ongoing basis and provide the Director of Public Health with regular updates on progress against delivery
