Job description
Learning Support Assistant - Brand New SEN School in Brent
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Term-Time Only
A brand new SEN school is opening in Brent this September - and they're looking for the right people to help shape something special from day one.
This school has been purpose-built to support children and young people with autism and associated needs. Every classroom, every corridor, and every space has been designed to give students the structure and support they need to thrive - now they just need a committed, reliable team of Learning Support Assistants to help bring that vision to life.
What makes this role different?
You won't be stepping into someone else's shoes - you'll be part of the team setting the tone, routines, and culture of the school. It's a rare opportunity to join a provision at the very beginning, where your input will actually help shape the way things are done.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting students across a range of ages (primary or secondary), all with ASD or related learning needs
- Helping pupils settle into their routines in a brand new environment
- Working closely with class teachers, therapists and senior staff to provide clear, consistent support
- Assisting with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation throughout the day
- Using visuals, routines, sensory strategies and structured support to help each learner make progress
- Taking part in building a calm, respectful culture from day one - both in and out of the classroom
What we're looking for:
- Experience in SEN settings is great - but attitude matters most
- Patience, maturity, and a genuine belief in what young people with autism can achieve
- People who are happy to get stuck in and build something meaningful - even if that means things won't always be easy
- A calm presence and clear communication skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply through Remedy)
Why this role might be right for you:
- You want more than just a job - you want to be part of something new, with room to grow
- You're ready to work in a school that puts students' emotional wellbeing and communication needs at the centre
- You believe that the right environment, the right people, and the right attitude can help every learner succeed - no matter their starting point
This school is looking to build a team of people who are in it for the long run. If you want to be there from the beginning and help shape something meaningful, we want to hear from you.
To apply, send your CV to Remedy Education or call 0203 031 4862 to speak with our team.
Please note: This role is subject to full safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS and reference screening. You must have the right to work in the UK.
