Remedy Education are working with an Outstanding Primary school based in South East London who are seeking a SEND Teacher to join their Deaf Support Base ASAP.

The school adopts a total communication policy approach, using Sign Supported English which is based on British Sign Language (BSL). The school also works closely with specialist outreach professions such as speech and language therapists.

The ideal candidate for the Teacher of Deaf role would have:

• a sound understanding of the impact of hearing impairment on learning and how to plan and differentiate to account for this.
• a commitment to collaborative working.
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• promote effective, inclusive education for deaf pupils.
