Job description

Our client, South Gloucestershire Council is looking for a Social worker to join their Children's Response assessment Team.

The Response Team sits within the Front Door of our Integrated Children's Service. You will be assessing and managing risk where there is possible, or actual, significant harm to children to ensure that children are kept safe and protected from abuse. You will be undertaking statutory assessments of cases meeting the threshold for social care intervention, this includes child protection investigations.

During Covid-19; working arrangements are more flexible. Generally, supervisions may take place in the office, most workers remain working from home with any visits being made travelling from home. As such locally base applicants, or those with accommodation in the area are required.

Advanced level Social Worker per MOC (this grade sits between Social Worker and Senior Social Worker and is a full case holding non-supervisory role)

Must be able to evidence Children's Assessment experience or safeguarding experience in a Local Authority setting, must be at an advanced level (i.e able to hold complex or difficult cases but not manage individuals) up to 40 hours per week paid as default.

Travel & Accommodation allowance is applicable on this post (where verified as eligible), for workers that normally reside further than 40 miles as the crow flies from the office location. Applicable where staying in the area or required to commute to the offices as a primary work location still.

You will need to be:

Social work england registered
Eligible to work in the UK
Atleast 1 year post qualifying experience
