Job description

Our client, Croydon council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Project Court and Safeguarding team.

We are looking for confident Social Workers/ Advanced Social Workers, who also have the following qualities:

  • Qualified and registered with Social Work England and have a minimum of 2 years experience in working in within safeguarding children's services.
  • A sound understanding of systemic practice which underpins the framework model within Croydon (desirably a foundation level qualification)
  • Experienced in completing high standard analytical family assessments and legal reports with informed, evidence based recommendations, including where appropriate effective care planning delivering the outcomes of these plans through multi-agency co-ordination and review of the intervention. This may also include report writing for an array of forums including risk panels and legal forums.
  • Skilled in building relationship, engaging and managing complex families through varying levels of intervention including (but not limited to) child in need, child protection and the public law outline.
  • Competency in representing children lived experiences and advocating for them in an array of forums including court; always demonstrating empathy and maintaining professionalism
  • Knowledge of national policy, strategy and developments regarding children's social care, and areas that impact on children's social care.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant theoretical frameworks, practice models and research findings.
  • Knowledge and application of models of reflective supervision that impact on practice and outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain records that evidence our engagement with children and families, , informs the quality assurance framework e.g., quantitative, qualitative and outcome information for the children and families, capturing the views and experiences of children and families
  • Service delivery that meets the expected performance standards consistently across the measures within the journey of the child.
