SEN Teaching Assistant - Lewisham (Secondary SEN School)
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: £100 - £120 per day
A specialist SEN school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students aged 11-16 with a range of complex needs. This includes pupils with Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and those requiring wheelchair assistance.
The Role:
Work within small SEN units, providing one-to-one or small group support
Assist students with mobility, personal care, and physical needs, including wheelchair assistance
Support learning across a variety of subjects, tailored to individual EHCPs
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all learners
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement learning and behaviour plans
About You:
Previous experience working with young people with SEN is highly desirable
Comfortable with personal care and manual handling (training can be provided)
A hands-on, proactive approach with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students
Strong communication and teamwork skills
