SEN Teaching Assistant - Wandsworth, London

Position: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £105-£110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Wandsworth, London


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Wandsworth. This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates or experienced professionals to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN/SEMH needs.

  • Assist in differentiating tasks to ensure all students can access the curriculum.

  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt learning materials to individual needs.

  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.

  • Encourage and motivate students, celebrating their progress along the way.


Person Specification

  • Qualifications: A Level 3 NVQ in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent) is desirable.

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or working with SEN students is advantageous.

  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about working with young people.
