Job description

Are you an experienced and qualified Secondary Special Needs Teacher, having taught children with ASD/PMLD/SLD and Complex Needs? If so, this role could be for you.

Our client School based in Greenwich are looking for a full time SEN Teacher to teach a KS3/KS4 class.

You will be teaching students with a range of special needs and will have teaching assistants who are trained in Makaton/PECS to support you.

This is an amazing school with very friendly staff and an extremely approachable management team. The facilities at the school are second to none, with a beautiful spacious playground for the learners to enjoy. The pupils all have an individual learning programme that details what and how they are learning. This includes an input from a variety of different departments including Speech and Language, Occupational, Physio and Music Therapy. In the School's latest Ofsted report, the school received a 'good' grade with 'outstanding' features and stated that the students make good progress in speaking and listening, as well as reading and writing.

You will need:

  • A proven record of teaching SEND students with a range of needs
  • Be able to prepare and teach effective lessons, considering the individual needs of the students
  • Have effective methods of communication as some students are non-verbal
  • Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application

NQTs are welcome to apply for this position.
