Remedy Education are looking for an experienced, dedicated and pro-active Learning Support Assistant - To join a top SEN School in Waltham Forest as soon as possible. I have one Learning Support Assistant positions available to start ASAP based in a modern and very well run Special Needs School in Waltham Forest. As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working in small classes supporting children with PMLD and other complex cognitive difficulties.

Pupils have complex learning and medical needs, most are wheelchair bound and are unable to communicate with the outside world. You will be expected to support them with Hoisting, Manual Handling Needs and Personal Care (feeding, changing and toileting).

You will be working with students aged 2-19; all of whom have statements of Special Education Needs. Most of the children you will be working with have very limited communication skills, and some are completely non-verbal. You will be working either 1:1 with a particular student or supporting a class alongside a team of fellow Learning Support Assistant staff and the class teacher.

The personal care duties will include:

  • Feeding
  • Changing the students

To be eligible to apply for this position, you will need to be available to start immediately, as well as being able to commit to working 8:30 - 4pm, 5 days per week in Waltham Forest. You must have a good command of numeracy and literacy, as this is especially important when supporting pupils with limited communication skills.

Ideally, as a Learning Support Assistant you will have the following experience: Learning difficulties, physical impairment, sensory impairment, ASC and SEMH.

Please apply now, you can also contact Tilly at Remedy for more information on 0204 531 0058.
