We are currently recruiting for SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in a Secondary School with a passionate team and a unique approach to education and training. This school works hard to provide students with opportunities to turn their lives around.

Specific students requires support with Social, Emotional, and/or Mental Health issues (SEMH). Pupils are aged between 10-18 years old and in addition to their behavioural needs, may have a range of further complex and profound needs.

SEMH Teaching Assistants will work alongside teaching staff to teach students to take responsibility for their behaviour and its consequences.

This role provides fantastic opportunities to gain hands on experience for aspiring Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Social Workers, Counsellors and Psychologists.

The SEMH Teaching Assistant role:

  • Working with pupils in KS3 and KS4 1:1 and in class settings
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills and ability to differentiate
  • Has education and training relevant to working with SEMH pupils
  • Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Positive attitude and resilient nature
