SEMH Teacher
Location - Croydon
Salary- £150 - £200 per day, paid Weekly
We are recruiting for committed and passionate individuals, for Long term opportunities within our schools. As someone that has experience working with young people in education, you will understand that no two days are the same, and that being able to think on your feet, and communicate effectively with all kinds of learners, is the key to an enjoyable classroom experience. The SEMH Specialist Teacher takes responsibility for the day- to-day operation of provision made by the school for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
The SEMH Teacher may need to:
Provide high quality support, teaching and learning for children with SEMH needs
Provide advice, training, support, and challenge within the SEMH school
Liaise and work with other professionals and parents/carers to ensure co-ordinated and consistent support for children and young people with SEMH needs
Assist in the planning for, and meeting the needs of children and young people experiencing SEMH difficulties
Promote and develop inclusive practice with staff to improve the attainment and achievement for pupils with SEMH needs
Provide guidance and direction on inclusive practice for children with SEMH needs
Provide an appropriate learning environment that nurtures and develops social and emotional aspects of learning
Develop and manage an appropriate, creative, and accessible curriculum
Champion the needs of children and young people with SEMH needs
Maintain and develop resources available to the provision
Contribute to ongoing assessment of progress monitoring
The ideal candidate will ensure that children and young people and their parent/carers have a voice. The teacher will understand the role and value of families and carers as partners in supporting their children to achieve positive outcomes.
