Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant
Location: Greenwich, South East London
Company: Remedy Education
Pay Rate: £95 - £115 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-Term / Temp-to-Perm

Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a committed and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Greenwich. This school provides high-quality education and pastoral care for students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, many of whom present with SEMH, challenging behaviours, and additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students aged 11-16 with a range of SEMH needs in a 1:1 and small group setting

  • De-escalate challenging behaviours calmly and effectively using positive behaviour support strategies

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them re-engage with learning

  • Implement individual support plans under the guidance of the SENCO and classroom teachers

  • Encourage personal development, emotional regulation, and positive social interaction

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs

  • Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills

  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach

  • An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to supporting vulnerable learners

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)

  • The legal right to work in the UK
