Job description

Qualified Social Worker - Wiltshire Council - Ongoing Support, Adult Social Care - Up to £35ph!

We are currently looking for experienced Social Workers to work across the North and East of the county. The M4 provides easy access to the geography of the area the team covers, with towns such as Chippenham, Marlborough and Royal Wootton Basset being included in the area.

There is a lot of flexibility offered within the role, from compressed hours, to working from home part of the week. Based on full-time hours, typically the requirement would be for 2/3 days on visits and the other days working from home.

The team office is in Chippenham, providing a base for days when out visiting people. Currently we provide a lot of virtual support to our social workers, but we are looking to return to some element of face-to-face peer support in the near future. There may also therefore be a requirement to meet colleagues/manager fortnightly at our Chippenham hub, once we return to using the offices more frequently.

The work involves support and intervention to people aged 18 plus, who live with physical disabilities, chronic and long-term conditions and sensory impairment.

The social work role includes:

  • Working in partnership with people, their families and carers;
  • Undertaking Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act assessments;
  • Reviewing needs and outcomes;
  • Providing short-term and long-term case management;
  • Progressing safeguarding enquiries
  • Court of Protection work;
  • Working closely with health and multi-disciplinary colleagues.
