Qualified Social Worker - Salford City Council, Greater Manchester - Looked after Children Team - £35ph

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Cared for children Discharge of Care Team. You will be part of a team of Social Workers that will specialise in the discharging of Care orders and Permanency options. You will carry a caseload of cases where the plan is to discharge Care Orders, pursue Special Guardianship Orders/Child Arrangement Orders and Supervision Orders. Where the need arises you will also carry a small caseload of cared for children.

In this role you will undertake effective assessment and care planning as well as attend legal planning meetings, child care reviews. In addition you will be responsible for preparation of written evidence, attendance at Court, professionals meetings and you would ensure there is no delay after a decision is made to discharge a Care Order.

You will need to have significant experience in working with Children and families subject to Child protection or children in care. You will have knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and of legislation, regulations and guidance relating to Children's social care together with an ability to assess and manage risk.
