Primary SEN Teacher - September 2025 - Southwark

  • Job Title: Primary SEN Teacher, KS2 (SEN - ASD)
  • Location: Southwark
  • Contract Type: Long term
  • Start date: Monday 1st September 2025
  • Pay: £180 - £240 per day, depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced Primary Teacher for a small, nurturing class of 8 pupils with autism and communication challenges. This role is based in a Mainstream Primary School with SEN Provision in Southwark offering an ideal environment for teaching and supporting students with Special Educational Needs.

The class is calm and structured, with continuous provision to support the individual needs of each student. As the class teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored lessons to ensure every child's academic, social, and emotional growth. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping these pupils engage with learning and develop essential life skills.

About role:

  • Teach a small class of 8 students with ASD and communication needs
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the students' individual learning needs
  • Provide a calm, structured classroom environment with continuous provision
  • Work closely with SEN support staff and parents to ensure holistic development
  • Support students in their academic, social, and emotional growth

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN, particularly ASD/ Autism and communication issues
  • Ability to create a calm, inclusive classroom environment
  • Passion for working with students with additional needs and ensuring they reach their full potential
