Job description

Our client Medway Council is looking for a Team Manager to join their duty & Assessment team.

To line manage, support and coach a team of social workers that includes experienced staff and newly qualified workers, in order to ensure the correct procedures are implemented which support positive outcomes for children, young people and families.

To contribute towards delivering the council's vision for Children's Social Care in order to ensure the objectives and priorities are realised.

Promote and develop effective partnership working with other Council services and partner agencies to ensure efficient delivery of the service.

The assessment team undertakes Children and family assessments, which may lead to a Child in Need plan, a 'step down' to early help services or no further action, and section 47 assessments that may lead to initial Child Protection Conferences. The assessment service also initiates care proceedings where necessary.

Essential requirements:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* ASYE completed
