Qualified Social Worker, LAC

If you are a Qualified Social Worker with a background working with Children in Need, we want to hear from you.

You will be building effective relationship with the Child in question, to ensure a fully integrated and holistic approach.

Main duties include:

  • To assist the Operational Manager in providing a comprehensive social work service, Needs Assessment for young people from 18 to 25years, safeguarding vulnerable adults and promoting care management for adults and their carers in the Borough of Bexley who are identified as being in need as a result of disability or .
  • The PFA team provides services for young people aged between 14 - 25 years who have an Education, Health and Care Plan, severe and complex learning disabilities, autism, and mental health issues. The PFA team then works with young people who are likely to be eligible for ASC, to begin the process of transfer at 18 years to ASC. The workers then attend the Yrs. 9, 10/11, Yrs. 12/14 school reviews. Where the young person continues education the PFA team will continue to attend those reviews. The statutory responsibility for the young person remains with the Children's social worker involved with the young person until the age of 18 years.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • ASYE complete
  • Experience with Children in Need
