Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Greenwich
Pay: £120 - £140 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

Are you an experienced and passionate HLTA with a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN)? This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich. The school is seeking an exceptional candidate to lead their dedicated SEN Hub and make a real difference to the lives of children with a range of additional needs.

About the role:

  • Lead the SEN Hub: Coordinate and oversee provision for children with mild to severe needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, SEMH, and physical disabilities.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support: Deliver tailored interventions for pupils with additional needs, including those with physical disabilities.

  • Cover lessons: Step into the classroom as needed to ensure continuity of learning.

  • Collaborate with staff and parents: Work closely with teachers, TAs, and families to support individual learning plans.

  • Use specialist skills: Apply experience with manual handling, hoist training, or Team Teach strategies where relevant.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification (essential)

  • Strong experience supporting children with SEN in either mainstream or specialist settings

  • Knowledge of Autism, SEMH, and physical disabilities

  • Experience or training in manual handling, hoist use, or Team Teach (desirable)

  • A caring, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
