Job description

Purpose for this role is;

  • To lead the project management of the delivery of the Department of Culture Media (DCMS) Sport funded Outcomes Accelerator Project, ensuring that the deliverables are appropriately specified, project planned and met on time and within budget in line with Ealing and DCMS requirements.
  • To co-ordinate officers from different teams in the seven local authorities within the West London Alliance (WLA) to meet, work together and provide data and information in a managed way.
  • To work with the data platform provider, wireless network operators and WLA team to design the processes and systems for collecting and sourcing asset data and information from the boroughs in a secure (and other public bodies) to reduces costs and overheads.

Key skills for this role are;

  • Knowledge and experience of leading project management and delivery of public sector led data and research projects involving sourcing, collecting, cleaning and sharing data with the private sector.
  • Knowledge and experience of leading procurement, contracting and contract management in the public sector to buy in data services, business advisory and other services.
  • Knowledge and experience of leading multi-stakeholder (public and private) project management, project budget management, project progress reporting, stakeholder management (both internal and external), influencing, communications and the internal decision-making processes of local government;
  • The ability to work under pressure, to time and to deadlines, and within financial constraints
  • The ability to present with clarity and confidence to senior internal and external stakeholders;
  • The ability to work with knowledge, influence and credibility at Programme Steering Group meetings composed of senior internal and external stakeholders;
  • The ability translate complex technical language into easy to understand notes and briefing materials which can be understood by a range of stakeholders.
  • Undergraduate degree or extensive work experience is preferable in a related area to the role.
  • Experience in the infrastructure sector and managing data innovation projects involving sharing data between public and private bodies would be preferable
  • Experience in commercialisation and public sector innovation with data would be preferable.
  • Experience working on central government funded projects would be preferable.
  • Experience of influencing senior colleagues and internal and external stakeholders to input to and deliver success.
