Job description

Ealing is a vibrant West London borough, with excellent transport links and will soon be home to five cross rail stations. Ealing has a high rate of permanent staff, offers a wide range of training opportunities and a career progression scheme to promote and support staff development.

Service-level, we are embarking on an exciting new endeavour through the creation of a dedicated, internal team of Independent Reviewing Officers. Our predominant ambition is to deliver an agile service that is reflective of and informed by the needs of our children and young people. Purposeful engagement and creative approaches to service delivery are key components of our working strategy.

It is expected that our Independent Reviewing Officers work in a way that is reflective of our Brighter Futures Intensive Engagement Model. Our practice model is a complex, whole system intervention that was launched in June 2015 and supports and enables the children's social care workforce to build effective, consistent relationships with adolescents, families, communities, and carers - and to use those successful relationships to bring about positive and sustainable change.

Are you?
* an existing Independent Reviewing Officer or an experienced manager, committed to working in partnership with Social Care colleagues to make a tangible difference in the lives of Ealing children, young people, and their families
* a qualified, Social Work England registered social worker
* an ambitious practitioner with the skills and experience to deliver the highest standards of professional practice
* a practitioner with 5 years of post-qualifying experience with relevant management experience in social work
* an effective communicator who can empower and support children, young people and their families to participate in meetings and collaboratively contribute to multiagency discussions
* a practitioner with experience chairing complex meetings

What can Ealing offer you?
* an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a supportive, well organised structure
* manageable workloads
* high-quality individual supervision within a stimulating learning environment where creativity and innovation is celebrated and promoted
* on-going personalised training and development opportunities
* an excellent benefits package with a range of innovative programmes to help you look after your health and well-being.

What we are looking for?
* we are looking for an ambitious, professional, conscientious practitioner with sharp analytical skills, quality assurance experience and leadership capabilities - to join our Safeguarding, Review and Quality Assurance Team
* you will be a team player too - working with colleagues in a range of disciplines, sharing knowledge, and providing support and advice to deliver the best possible outcomes for local children and their families
* someone who will flourish working in a diverse community and be eager to explore new and emerging areas in social work practice and service delivery.
