EAL/MFL Teaching Assistant - graduate role in a Secondary school!

If you have studied languages (Spanish & French) and have experience of supporting young people abroad - this graduate opportunity could be ideal!

The Role-

As an EAL Teaching Assistant you will support international new arrivals who need additional support learning English as a second language. You will use a variety of strategies and resources to aid and support the learning of EAL students. This role is well suited to someone who has studied MFL and is looking to become a teacher in the future as the experience and knowledge you will gain will be invaluable. You will run small group and 1-1 interventions to support student learning within English to ensure they gain the best quality education.

Person Specification-

You must have a UK degree, all core subject degree subjects will be considered if you have recently achieved a 2.1 or above, however you must be able to speak French or Spanish. You will be required to have experience working with EAL students previously whether in the UK or teaching English overseas and/or a TEFL or similar qualification. You should be passionate about providing an inclusive education and have a desire to work within education. Last year the school appointed a graduate EAL teaching assistant for this role who has now secured a teacher training course and has started their training this September. The knowledge and skills gained from this EAL TA position will provide the successful applicant with invaluable knowledge and skills.
