Job description

Our client Darlington Borough Council is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join their team.

6 month positions. Caseloads are capped at 18 - 20. The successful candidates will hold a mixture of cases ranging through CIN, CP and Court cases, although will be expected to hold the more complex cases which is reflected in the level of experience we are looking for. We cover the mid- longer term work within the Authority until the point of conclusion or transfer to the Children's Looked After Team. Darlington aim to limit the amount of cases each worker holds to 18 - 20 - we are a small Local Authority, based centrally and as such this makes travelling to meet with families and between locations much easier. We have a good range of services available to support the work with families and good structures in place. Workers will have access to the Local Authority training programme and will be provided with a tablet PC and smart phone as we are fully agile in our working. Due to the current situation we are working from home, however we can provide a local office base on set days to enable visits and when on duty. New Starters will have a meet & greet with their team manager & collect equipment on their first day. For those from outside of the North East, we can offer up to £50 per night room only accommodation, and paid mileage once per week to & from home at 45 pence per mile. The benefits of working in Darlington are that we are a small and friendly Local Authority with strong multi agency partnerships and a visible senior management team. We have a robust Early Help Service providing a range of preventative services including bespoke packages of support. We also have a dedicated Supervised Contact service, Family Group Conferencing team and Edge of Care team, as well as Family Support Workers aligned to our Assessment and Safeguarding teams. We offer flexible working options; condensed hours such as 37 over 4 days; differing start/finish times; remote & office working and flexi. Caseloads are capped at 18 - 20 children, personal and case supervision is held monthly and we offer extensive training opportunities, parking permits and strong administrative support.
