Are you a caring and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with profound and complex learning needs?

Remedy Education is working closely with a specialist SEN primary school in South East London to recruit a Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is a rewarding role where you will support students with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), complex medical needs, and autism, many of whom are non-verbal and require tailored support to access their education.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with complex needs across early years and primary phases

  • Assist with personal care, feeding, and the use of mobility aids

  • Support students in sensory integration and communication, using resources like PECS, Makaton, and sensory circuits

  • Implement EHCP targets and record daily progress and observations

  • Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support plans (PBSPs)

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to deliver high-quality care and education

  • Create an environment that promotes calm, inclusion, and well-being for all learners

Requirements:

  • Experience working in an SEN setting, ideally with pupils with PMLD, complex needs, or medical conditions

  • Familiarity with hoisting, feeding tubes, or moving and handling (training can be provided)

  • Comfortable with personal care responsibilities

  • Patient, compassionate, and highly adaptable

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

  • Team Teach or MAPA training (desirable but not essential)

Why Join Remedy Education?

  • A dedicated SEN consultant to support your career progression

  • Competitive pay and weekly payroll

  • Opportunities for training and upskilling in specialist SEN support

  • Long-term and permanent placement opportunities in outstanding SEN schools
