Job description

Our client, Caerphilly County Borough Council is looking for a Social Worker to join their Childrens team.

Caerphilly West Children Services is looking for a Social Worker who has the right values, motivation and commitment to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment. You will need to be able to build positive working relationships with children, parents, and professionals to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families. You will be required to promote "what matters" with children and their families and you will be expected to manage a complex case load.
At this time the social worker are undertaking their role through both face to face work and virtual visits and meetings. Therefore you must be able to use IT for these purposes. Experience of the use of Teams and CVP hearings is desired.
Caerphilly Children Services have strong links to the Gwent Attachment Service and Caerphilly has invested in the MyST therapeutic service that provides intensive support to our Children who are Looked After. As a member of staff you will also benefit from regular supervision and support from the experienced Senior Practitioners and Team Manager.
The teams cover both short and long term work including work with Children in Need of Care and Support, Children Looked After, Child Protection and Court work.
Your role will include undertaking high quality assessments and/or care management to children and families who have been assessed as requiring ongoing intervention. You will review intervention within statutory timescales ensuring plans for children are achieving the identified outcomes with the support of other agencies.
The role includes:
- To assess need in accordance with Directorate policies, procedures and relevant assessment frameworks, to include Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other locally and nationally agreed protocols.
- To develop effective, outcome focussed intervention plans in consultation with children and young people themselves, and with their parents or carers, in order to safeguard their welfare, address risk and ensure

You will need to be:

Social work england registered
Eligible to work in the UK
Atleast 1 year post qualifying experience
