Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)?
We're looking for a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming and supportive team, helping students with autism to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting neurodiverse young people. Every day, you'll be helping students develop confidence, communication skills, and independence and witnessing their growth firsthand.
Key Responsibilities
As an Autism Support Worker, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Help pupils engage with learning, social interaction, and daily routines.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement individual learning plans (EHCPs).
- Promote emotional wellbeing, communication, and self-regulation strategies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with autism or special educational needs (SEN).
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships and adapt to individual needs.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people with autism.
(Relevant qualifications in psychology, education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.)
