Location: Southwark, South East London
Salary: £95 - £120 per day
Job Type: Long-term, Full-time
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for working with pupils on the autism spectrum?

Remedy Education are currently working with a fantastic primary SEN school in Southwark who are looking to appoint a dedicated and confident ASD Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stages 1 and 2 from September.

The role will focus on supporting high-functioning pupils with ASD, helping to manage their learning, communication, and social development within the classroom environment.

About the Role:

  • Supporting students with high-functioning autism in 1:1 and small group settings

  • Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Helping students develop confidence, independence, and appropriate social interaction

  • Supporting the delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

  • Monitoring student progress and reporting to teaching staff and parents where required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting children with autism, ideally in a school or SEN setting

  • Calm, patient, and proactive approach to working with young people

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • A good understanding of the needs of high-functioning ASD students

  • Team Teach, PECS or Makaton training is desirable but not essential

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
