Year 6 Class Teacher
Southwark, South East London
£140 - £170 per day PAYE

ASAP Start

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is holding QTS and recent teaching experience within Year 6.

The role
Remedy Education are recruiting for a full-time, Year 6 class teacher in a gorgeous two-form entry school in Southwark. The school has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and candidates who have worked there before having provided us with great feedback. The students are very enthusiastic, displaying positive behaviours, as well as the team of staff being supportive and welcoming! The successful Year 6 class teacher will be responsible for looking after a group of approximately 23 pupils who thrive with a creative, bubbly, and consistent Year 6 class teacher. The ideal candidate will have experience within KS2 and will have a strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum including the preparation for SATs. The pupils enjoy using real life examples to support with their learning as well as interactive activities to really consolidate the knowledge. Year 6 class teacher will be required for the whole academic year, and this role is likely to be made permanent. This would be great for someone who has taught Year 6 and wishes to experience a very different and unique approach to teaching. NQTs are welcome to apply, however there must be evidence of experience within Year 6.

The school
The school is extremely modern, fitted with interactive white boards in each classroom, air conditioning and colourful notice boards, reflecting on work completed by the pupils. Each classroom has access to their central playground, creating a community feel and positive approach on their learning. The KS2 area of the school has a communal feel, and each classroom is named after various trees/nature components. The school ensures that the pupils receive a well-rounded education whereby the pupils develop intellectually, socially and physically. There is a strong focus on ensuring a caring approach to all pupils and the school have a really strong leadership team who support all staff and ensure CPD is carried to out regularly and thoroughly.

Requirements
To be considered for the Year 6 Class Teacher, you must:

  • Hold QTS
  • Have experience teaching in Year 6
  • Have recent or past experience working in Primary
  • Experience and confidence preparing pupils for SATs
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)
