We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom preparation, and individual student support. This is a full-time temporary position, ideal for someone passionate about education and child development, with the flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of a classroom setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Support the preparation of classroom materials and resources
  • Provide one-to-one support for students with learning difficulties or additional needs
  • Supervise pupils during classroom activities, playtimes, and transitions
  • Help with student assessments and maintain accurate records
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Requirements:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update system (essential)
  • Prior experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable)
  • Understanding of child development and learning processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • First Aid certification (preferred)
  • Additional training or qualifications in education or childcare (preferred)

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday - 8.30am until 3.30pm
  • Classroom-based role, working closely with young children
  • May involve physical tasks such as setting up equipment or supporting active play
