Job Overview: Our client is looking for a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Youth Justice Services (YJS) team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in youth justice and statutory case management, providing crucial support to young people within the justice system.
You will be responsible for managing cases, conducting thorough assessments, and representing young people in court. If you have recent or current experience in a Youth Justice Services setting and are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage statutory youth justice cases, ensuring that all legal obligations and deadlines are met.
Conduct assessments to develop tailored intervention plans.
Work closely with young people, their families, and other agencies to address offending behaviour and reduce the risk of reoffending.
Prepare and present cases in court, liaising with legal professionals and providing necessary reports.
Collaborate with multi-agency teams, including education, police, and health services, to support young people in achieving positive outcomes.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate case records and documentation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Essential Criteria:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration (e.g., with Social Work England or equivalent).
Recent or current experience working within a Youth Justice Service (YJS) setting.
Experience managing statutory cases within the youth justice system.
Skilled in completing AssetPlus assessments to inform intervention planning.
Experience of working in court, preparing court reports, and representing cases.
Strong understanding of the youth justice system and relevant legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage young people and their families.
