Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Assistant Team Manager to lead and manage the Practice Support Groups in their Corporate Parenting Service.

The role consists of supervising two social workers within the team; facilitating monthly group supervisions; managing duty within the team. The role also required assisting the Team Manager to ensure key performance targets in terms of placement stability, visits, health, education and case recording were within statutory timescales. Their Corporate Parenting Service pulls together the case work and the provision to focus on permanence for every Looked After Child. Waltham Forest operate a Group Supervision model within each team, called Practice Support Groups (PSG), where children and young people aged 0-18 years are the focus, this has the effect of reducing the transfers and handovers that children and their families hate. The focus on a Systemic Approach, with relationship based social work at its heart, supports social workers and promotes reflective practice.
