Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Team Manager to work within a Complex Safeguarding Hub for Newham Council.

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experience Practice Leader (Team Manager) to lead a team within our Complex Safeguarding Hub. Rate between £42 - £45.

Experience managing a team of Social Workers
Experience of managing complex cases
Experience of managing a newly set up team

The hub will work with children and young people who are assessed as having complex safeguarding needs as a consequence of trauma caused whilst missing from home or care and being subject to exploitation. Exploitation will almost always have an element of violence, emotional harm and physical harm overlaid by pre-existing vulnerabilities resulting from the child/young person's lived experience. The effects of this type of harm are long lasting and will impact on almost every aspect of their lives.

The Complex Safeguarding Hub will change the way we understand and respond to extra-familial risks, with a focus on strengthened relationships and therapeutic interventions. We will build on existing structures and processes to bring together expertise, knowledge and skills to deliver an effective multi-agency response.

Children's Social Care staff will be co-located with multi-agency partners:

· Youth service - PL and 4 Return Home Intervention and missing officers
· YOS - 2 disruption officers
· Police - Op Anzen and CSE/missing police
· CAMHS - 2 Well-being workers
· Education - Missing education officer.
· Missing and return home coordinator
Social Workers will hold a small caseload of children, up to a maximum of 10. The Social Workers in the Hub will be co-allocated with lead social workers within the Assessment, Intervention, SEND, LAC and Leaving Care Services, providing opportunities for shared learning. Hub Social Workers will stay allocated to these young people throughout their journey through the social care teams. Whilst all cases will be co-allocated Hub Social Workers will still have statutory duties and responsibilities.

The Hub will use a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, and Social Workers will need to be able to recognise and respond to children who are traumatised through their experiences of exploitation. Successful candidates will need to be able to provide creative interventions and will need to be prepared to work flexible hours so that we can offer a responsive service at critical times in a child's life.
