Remedy Education is currently looking for skilled teaching assistants on behalf of a special college located in Lambeth. The school is lead by a young and exciting management team, with extensive links to the local community. The staff are very pleasant, and extremely welcoming - the family feel of the college helps any new starter settle in relatively quickly. The school is equipped with several facilities; a carpentry shack, a lovely sensory room - and several classes where students get to be creative, and create handmade items. The location of the school is ideal, it is easily accessible by public and private transport.
The role will involve 1-to-1 with a designated pupil, where you'll work in relatively small classroom alongside a teacher and other teaching assistants. Candidates will be supporting pupils with PMLD, Cerebral Palsy, Complex Needs and varying levels of autism. As such, experience in a classroom and or previous experience working with pupils with these specific needs is required. Manual Handling and Team Teach training is also advantageous, successful applicants will be diligent, committed, personable and willing to go the extra mile.
- Previous TA/LSA experience in a similar role.
- Full-time flexibility.
- Manual Handling and Team Teach (advantageous)
- DBS, or a willingness to pay £50 for a new one if not on update service.
- Experience with PMLD, ASD and Cerebral Palsy.
