Job description

Our client, Surrey CC is looking for a Registered Manager (INTERIM) to join their team.

The Hope & Extended Hope Service is offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Team/Registered Manager, in Extended Hope Service, which is an integral part of the Hope Service and joint funded by Surrey County Council and CCG's.

The Hope Service is a multi-agency provision for young people aged 11-18 with complex mental health, social, emotional and educational needs. It has two employing agencies: Surrey County Council and Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Service is hosted by Surrey County Council, through Countywide Services in the Children, Schools and Families Directorate. Hope sits in the Children and Young People's Specialist Services arm of Children and Young People's Services within the SABP Trust. This role is part of Extended Hope operating outside of day time hours, in the evenings and at weekends.

The remit of the Hope Service is to prevent young people from being admitted into Tier 4 inpatient mental health units and from out of county fostering, residential or educational provision. The Service provides a Community Outreach and Day Programme. Extended Hope provides assessment and two therapeutic residential beds based in Redhill.

In this role, you will have responsibility for the daily management and oversight of the Outreach and Residential provision and staff based on their site, in close liaison with their Professional Lead colleagues in Hope. This involves close liaison with Children's Services, working alongside colleagues from different professional disciplines within Hope and being part of a multi-agency leadership group that is obliged to work in accordance with Social Care, Health and Education guidance and legislation, under the Hope & Extended Hope Service Manager.

This role is pivotal in ensuring there is a clear understanding of the needs of each young person accessing a service, and that risk is minimised, effectively managed and regularly reviewed.

The service consists of two key elements: an extension of Hope through the assessment and support and the inclusion of an Ofsted registered residential two bed respite unit. The Team/Registered Manager role will be responsible for the overall effective delivery and improvement of service provision for Extended Hope, in collaboration with the Assistant Team Managers. To ensure that young people aged 11-18 years old with complex social care, emotional, educational and mental health needs are identified and safely met through the work of a multi-agency integrated team.

Extended Hope Service aims to support young people facing emotional and mental health crisis outside of normal office hours or requiring, following assessment, a respite/crisis bed at Extended Hope House for up to 7 days. The Ofsted registered two bed unit is staffed by a Team/Residential Manager, Assistant Team Manager, Residential Workers, Community Psychiatric Nurses and a Consultant Psychiatrist.

The crisis element of Extended Hope operates between the hours of 5-11pm, 7 days a week and can be accessed through the CAMHS Crisis Line.

We are looking for a flexible, dynamic and motivated Team/Residential Manager with significant experience in working with challenging young people with mental health needs and complex backgrounds.
