A great opportunity has come up for either an experienced Speech and Language TA or a graduate to join a good school in Lewisham and support a child in Year 3 who has speech and language difficulties.

A child in reception needs a caring and friendly teaching assistant to help her access the curriculum. She has speech and language difficulties and occasionally presents some challenging behaviour out of frustration. The school want to find a patient teaching assistant who can quickly earn trust and help accelerate her progress. There will be ongoing support from the class teacher and SENCO, and there are also regular visits from the speech and language therapist. She has a lot of potential and with the right help, the school are convinced that she could catch up quickly.

This position would really suit either an experienced TA, or a graduate who wants to go on and teach or go on to a career in speech and language. Applications are encouraged from linguistics and psychology graduates.

If you would like to be considered for the position, please forward a copy of your CV as soon as possible.
