The Role - 1:1 Teaching Assistant

• Ability to form a trusting bond with a young female student
• Supporting a female student with complex needs spanning multiple areas of development
• Experience in supporting students with difficulties in processing speed, memory and basic literacy
• Experience in breaking down information using a variety of different methods in order to support learning - ability or willingness to learn how to do this as and when needed, could be in the moment if student experiences difficulty
• Proficient in using multi sensory methods and deploying sensory intervention when needed
• The ability to recognise when student need intervention and ability to distract / defuse / de-escalate prior to event
• Flexible and adaptable
• Strong ability to advocate for student and use initiative
• Support social interactions as part of student's ongoing progression
• Staff member to be intuitive and able to learn student's triggers
