Senior Finance Officer and Bursar - North London School - Temp to Perm

Remedy Education are looking to recruit a Senior Finance Officer for a school based in North London

Job Requirements:

  • Reporting into the School Business Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining control of the school's finances and administration. You will be responsible for financial regulations are adhered to and to take responsibility for day to day financial procedures/financial control.

  • You will be required to deputise for the School Business Manager from time to time to ensure the finance office runs smoothly, you will be required to supervise finance staff.

  • Your duties will include day to day management of the financial business of the school, manage finance payments and income processes, ensure the financial regulations are adhered to and controlled in liaison with the local authority and ESFA.

  • You will be required to manage PS Financials, check and process invoices for payments and producing cheques/BACs runs, develop relationships with the LA, ESFA, auditors, bankers, suppliers, contractors and auditors. You will be required to undertake regular reviews and evaluations of cost saving opportunities, preparation of month end accounts including payroll, bank reconciliation and monthly VAT returns.

  • Other responsibilities include preparation and submission of finance returns to the ESFA and other bodies, preparation and guidance on all aspects of budget planning, completion of year end accounts working to ESFA guidelines and timescales, processing all income into the trust (banking, invoicing and reconciling), preparation of invoices and collection of fees and other dues and operation of school and trust bank accounts ensuring a full reconciliation is undertaken at least once a month.

  • The role will also have bursar responsibilities.

The role will be an immediate start, paying competitively and subject to security checks including DBS and background checks.
