SENCO (Cover) - Specialist SEN School - Hackney
Full-Time | Immediate Start | Supportive Leadership Team

A welcoming and well-resourced specialist SEN school in Hackney is seeking a confident and compassionate SENCO to join their team on a cover basis. The Role
As SENCO, you will play a central role in shaping and leading the school's SEND provision, ensuring pupils receive the tailored support they need to succeed both academically and socially.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and coordinating the school's SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
Overseeing EHCPs, support plans and targeted interventions
Working closely with teachers, therapists, parents and external agencies
Monitoring pupil progress and ensuring effective support strategies are in place
Supporting and guiding staff with best practice for inclusive teaching
Helping maintain a positive, structured and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
Experience working within SEN or specialist settings
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
Confident leadership, communication and organisational skills
A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting pupils and families
