SEN Tutor - Croydon | Qualified Teacher Required | Immediate Start

We are seeking committed and experienced SEN Tutors to provide tailored support to young people in the Croydon area. This is a highly rewarding role offering the opportunity to positively influence both the academic progress and emotional wellbeing of students with Special Educational Needs.

Location: Croydon
Start Date: Immediate or September
Hours: Flexible, part-time and full-time opportunities available
Pay: £25 to £35 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications

About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to students who may be out of mainstream education, following reduced timetables, or requiring additional support due to a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex profiles. Tuition will take place in the student's home or an appropriate community setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons in core subjects

• Differentiate teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs

• Build positive and professional relationships with students and families

• Support students' confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning

• Track, monitor, and report on student progress

Requirements

• Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent

• Demonstrable experience supporting children or young people with SEN

• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Desirable

• Experience working with students outside of mainstream education

• Training in behaviour management approaches such as Team Teach or MAPA

• Good understanding of EHCPs and SEN support frameworks
