SEN Tutor - Croydon | Qualified Teacher Required | Immediate Start
We are seeking committed and experienced SEN Tutors to provide tailored support to young people in the Croydon area. This is a highly rewarding role offering the opportunity to positively influence both the academic progress and emotional wellbeing of students with Special Educational Needs.
Location: Croydon
Start Date: Immediate or September
Hours: Flexible, part-time and full-time opportunities available
Pay: £25 to £35 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to students who may be out of mainstream education, following reduced timetables, or requiring additional support due to a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex profiles. Tuition will take place in the student's home or an appropriate community setting.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons in core subjects
Differentiate teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs
Build positive and professional relationships with students and families
Support students' confidence, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning
Track, monitor, and report on student progress
Requirements
Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent
Demonstrable experience supporting children or young people with SEN
Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable
Experience working with students outside of mainstream education
Training in behaviour management approaches such as Team Teach or MAPA
Good understanding of EHCPs and SEN support frameworks
