Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Waltham Forest

Remedy Education are currently seeking a very experienced SEN Teaching who has experience working with children with SEN needs (ASD/ASC predominantly) and available immediately to join one of our mainstream schools in Waltham Forest

The school is generally a mainstream school but also has a large tender of SEN students on EHCP plans who require 1:1 support and mentoring. The school is a Primary school and based very local to amenities and transport links.

The ideal candidate will have experience working 1:1 with SEN students previously (18 months minimum) and the ability to build strong relationships with staff and students alike to encourage learning and academic progress as well as compliance with the class.

The SEN needs are mainly (but not limited to) ASD/ASC, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, EBD, Global Delay SEMH. Some students may also be un-verbal and/or in wheelchairs.

Trainings and Qualifications to work with these students are not essential but would definitely aid any applications: Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, RWI/Ruth Miskin Training etc.

If this role is of interest please send me your CV and a cover letter immediately
