SEN Teaching Assistant for an ARP - Wickford, Essex
A Primary School based in Wickford are very excited to announce the opening of their Alternative Resourced Provision (ARP) for pupils with Autism and Speech, Language and Communication needs from 2024. The provision are therefore looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work one to one with students when the ARP opens.
An ARP is an integral part of a mainstream school. It is designed to provide specialist and targeted support for a small number of young people with high levels of SEND, whilst also allowing them to access in mainstream. Therefore you will be working with students aged between 4 an 11 years old in and out of the classroom. You will need to be a confident individual as you will be dealing with challenging behaviour, autism and speech, language & communication needs.
Successful applicants will;
- Have previous experience supporting children with SEN
- Ideally have pecs and Makaton experience
- Be confident with challenging behaviour
- Have excellent communication skills
About the role:
-5 days a week
-Working hours between 8.30-4.00pm.
-Working on a long-term basis.
