SEN Teaching Assistant / PMLD Support worker

  • All-through special needs school
  • Caters for pupils with a range of needs including ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, SEMH
  • Based in Lambeth
  • Long-term, full-time role
  • Daily rate from £70 - £80 (dependent on experience)
  • ASAP start

Remedy Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA to support pupils in small groups or 1:1 within an all-through special needs environment. This is an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' school with exceptional facilities. Continued professional development courses and training sessions are run weekly to upskill their staff. The SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA will be supporting students with a range of needs including ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, and SEMH needs. This will be a full-time or part-time, long-term role starting ASAP.

Job Role

  • SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN TA
  • Working with primary or secondary students with special needs (ASD, MLD, SLD, PMLD, SEMH)
  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
  • May be some personal care depending on needs of pupils
  • Assisting the class teacher in duties such as preparing resources and managing pupil behaviour
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress
  • Full-time or part-time, long-term role starting ASAP
  • Daily rate from £70 - £80 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Experience working within a school environment
  • Knowledge or previous experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Valid DBS/Police Checks
  • Effective classroom management, curriculum knowledge, and good communication skills
  • Adaptable and flexible personality
