SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH / Behaviour

Q - Do you have a genuine passion for nurturing and developing children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs?

This position is full time and long term, working at least until the end of the academic year (July 2021). You will be tasked with supporting and nurturing multiple children in and out of the classroom across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, with SEMH needs, varying from mild to moderate.

Pupils often display challenging behaviour, the ideal candidate will need to be; confident, resilient and harsh but fair with pupils. It is imperative that you earn the child's respect and trust for the relationship between you to flourish. The school has a number of fantastic SEMH Teaching Assistants and professional therapists / psychologists on-site to assist and train you, but you will have to be able to work on your own and think on your feet!

JOB DESCRIPTION

·SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH / Behaviour

·1:1 and group support - In and out of the classroom

·Working alongside a range of professionals and SENCO

·Attending weekly training sessions

·Working across any of the following phases - EYFS, KS1 or KS2

·September 2020 starts- Long-term & full time

·£70 - £90 per day

·Located in the Borough of Greenwich

PERSON SPECIFICATION

·Must have a degree from a reputable University

·Must have an outgoing, forward-thinking and creative personality

·You must be willing to learn and get stuck in with multiple roles

·Strong understanding of SEN is ideal

·Previous SEN experience in either a working or personal level would be desirable, but not essential
